Mariana is a senior at UTEP working towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a double minor in Biology and Environmental Science. She works with Empower Change as an undergraduate research assistant where she focuses on improving mental health policies and informing the public on such topics. She wants to put her interdisciplinary studies to good use by pursuing a graduate degree in Conservation Leadership / Ecosystem Sustainability. She hopes to influence global policy by promoting a more sustainable world. She is also a research assistant for the Child and Adult Suggestibility Laboratory with Dr. Wood, where she does research on different methods of interrogation in criminal settings, amongst other topics in forensic psychology.
